Since 1993
SHARE-Amazónica (The Historical Anthropology Society for the Support of Amazonian Education) is a collective that works with universities, research institutions, government ministries and Indigenous Peoples to promote the interchange of knowledge, ideas and issues about the amazon region of Peru. Our work focuses on translating books, publishing books written by Indigenous people, organizing collaborative programs, supporting inter-cultural bilingual education and producing short films with local people and the Amazonian School of Cinema.
The methodology of SHARE is to build collaborations with Indigenous Peoples, institutions, organizations, individuals and government ministries to enhance the quantity and quality of Amazonian Education in terms of what is available in the region, and what is shared about the region in Peru and beyond. Rather than focusing on an official agenda, creating a separate office and using money to cover the costs of running an organization, SHARE is run by volunteers who believe in their work and are dedicated to the ethics and methods of SHARE and its collaborators. We build collaborations to publish books and produce films that promote education and intercultural exchanges that address the concerns and desired futures of Indigenous people.
SHARE-Amazónica (La Sociedad Histórico-Antropológica para Respaldar la Educación Amazónica) es un colectivo que tiene como objetivo aumentar el intercambio de conocimientos, ideas y temas sobre la región amazónica del Perú tanto dentro como fuera de la región. Esto incluye traducir libros, publicar libros escritos por miembros de los Pueblos Originarios en sus idiomas y en castellano, organizar programas de colaboración centrados en la educación intercultural bilingüe así como crear cortometrajes en, y alrededor de, la región en colaboración con personas y organizaciones locales.
"Share" significa compartir. En este sentido, la metodología de SHARE es compartir esfuerzos y construir alianzas con Pueblos Originarios, organizaciones, individuos y ministerios con el objetivo de impulsar la Educación Amazónica en términos de la oferta y la calidad de la misma disponible actualmente en la región. En lugar de imponer una agenda foránea, creando una oficina separada y usando recursos para cubrir los costos administrativos de la organización, SHARE está formada por voluntarios que creen en su trabajo y ponen especial énfasis en los aspectos éticos y los metodológicos del mismo entre SHARE y sus colaboradores. Asimismo, promovemos cooperaciones con organizaciones y fomentamos espacios para que los libros y las películas sean traducidas y producidas colectivamente.

Gobierno Peruano Reconoce Oficialmente a la Lengua Ashéninka
El Ministerio de Cultura ha reconocido oficialmente la lengua Ashéninka como lengua indígena u originaria. En este sentido, se encuentra realizando las coordinaciones correspondientes para iniciar la mesa de trabajo que conformará junto al Ministerio de Educación y las organizaciones del Pueblo Asheninka para iniciar el proceso de normalización del alfabeto correspondiente.
Esta decisión del gobierno peruano es resultado de una solicitud enviada al Ministerio de Cultura por antropólogos, lingüistas e investigadores indígenas en el marco del Encuentro Internacional de Investigación Colaborativa Intercultural organizado por SHARE-Amazónica en Junio de 2017.
Peruvian Government Grants Official Recognition to the Ashéninka Language
The Ashéninka language has been granted recognition as an indigenous language by the Ministry of Culture. The Ministry will now launch a working-group to begin the process of normalizing the language's alphabet. This working-group will include representatives from the Ministry of Education and Asheninka organizations.
This decision is a direct result of a request submitted to the Ministry of Culture by anthropologists, linguists, and indigenous researchers gathered at the International Workshop on Intercultural Collaborative Research organized by SHARE-Amazónica in June of 2017.
